Last Wednesday we went, after a long time, to Mercat de Sineu. The mercat has been celebrated since the beginning of the 14th century and It brings together a large number of merchants and visitors. There you can find stands for footwear, wines, vegetables, fruits, flowers, trees, livestock, agricultural machinery and clothing.
For those who
want to visit Sineu from Palma they have it very easy taking the train
in the Plaza of Spain. The station in Sineu is only 100 meters away
from the beginning of the market.
After the stroll of rigor between the stalls of the market we approach Sa Plaça and enter the Bar Sa Plaça de Sineu to eat a good variat. It is a family bar, located in the square of the village, next to the church, it serves typical Mallorcan food and with affordable prices.
The variat is a set of tapas varied items included in the same dish, in such a way that the tastes are They mix together creating a very peculiar dish, but very good. It is also the star dish of the mid-morning meal and at Bar Sa Plaça can include up to three different tapas. I chose corns, Salad and frit, the price per person was about € 10 counting the Variat, red house wine, coffee and herbal cup. In the photos you can see both my variat and the dishes of my friends and how you can They all look very good and the truth is that it is very good, with homemade and typical food of Mallorca.
The visit to the Mercat de Sineu
It is highly recommended to enjoy a typical market of the island,
a beautiful town and numerous restaurants and bars with homemade food and quality.
